As an essential service we acknowledge that we have a duty of care to protect our patients and our staff from the spread of COVID-19. Our clinics do not have a ‘red stream’ or a location where symptomatic patients can be safely seen. As a result we will not see patients in the clinic who have respiratory symptoms or who have recent contact with a case of COVID-19.
Regardless of level within the New Zealand COVID-19 Protection Framework, initial appointments will either be booked via telehealth or you will be asked whether you are comfortable disclosing your vaccination status at the time of booking.
If you are fully vaccinated, you will be offered the option of either a face to face or telehealth appointment. You may be asked to supply or bring your vaccine certificate.
If you are unvaccinated, or do not wish to disclose your vaccination status, you will be offered your initial appointment via telehealth to discuss your needs.
The purpose of the telehealth consultation is to establish your individual needs and to plan further treatment or assessment. Having an initial appointment via telehealth does not preclude any patient from having a subsequent face to face appointment.
All of our physiotherapists are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19
We will be following Ministry of Health guidelines, as well as having strict procedures for how we operate in order to provide a safe environment for you and our team.
Your physiotherapist will be masked, wearing gloves and will maintain physical distancing except when performing their examination or delivering treatment.
Unvaccinated patients will not be able to use communal areas, including our gym space. Under the COVID-19 protection framework’s red and orange settings unvaccinated people are not permitted to attend a gym. Gyms that do not use the My Vaccine Pass system to verify users’ vaccination status are not able to open.
If you have any further questions the best bet is to email us at info@sportsmed.net.nz or fill out our form and one of the team will be in touch.
